Camper Van Conversion Part I

RAM PROMASTER 1500 LOW ROOF CONVERSION | SEATTLE ELOPEMENT & ADVENTURE PHOTOGRAPHER

In 2018, Dan and I bought our first car with the idea that we could also turn it into our first home! Avocado prices are going up and rent in Seattle isn’t getting much lower! I’m kidding, mostly. In reality, we do lots of road trips for my wedding photography business, and we figured this could be a really cost-effective and flexible way to travel. We’ve done a fair share of camping and backpacking, and while stormy nights in a tent build character, they also make you dream of a dry bed that is safe from the wind! This conversion is fairly basic and has given us everything we need for our road trips. Well, except bathrooms…who said #vanlife was for the faint of heart? Dan and I are by no means carpenters… or handymen for that matter, (special thanks to all the help from my Dad!), but we thought you guys might find it helpful to see our camper van conversion progress and what we have purchased so far. See all product links at the bottom of the post.

And for those you wondering, yes, the storage containers above the sink are filled with snacks when we start our trips. (Not that they last long after.)

Stay tuned for Part II—The COVID-19 quarantine has been a great excuse to do more updates! in the next post, we’ll talk about the sink tanks, battery setup, swiveling passenger seat, and the new kitchen backsplash!
